Marci Ien is National Ambassador for Success is in the Bag

Marci invites Canadians to put their designer handbags to work for women’s futures

TORONTO, March 30th 2017 – Dress for Success is delighted to announce that broadcast journalist Marci Ien is the National Campaign Ambassador for Success is in the Bag – a campaign that turns luxury handbags into opportunities for women.  Until May 8th women can donate high-end and gently used handbags that will be sold online, with all proceeds going to help low-income women in Canada. The initiative encourages the support of women in local communities and across the country. All funds raised will support Dress for Success in 12 cities to help more women on their journey out of poverty.

As National Campaign Ambassador, Ien will donate a beloved designer handbag. “I am so proud to be part of the Success is in the Bag campaign. All of my handbags tell a story. A gift to myself or from a loved one, they celebrate a personal achievement or milestone in my life. It’s wonderful that we all have this opportunity to donate a handbag and contribute to another woman’s future success, and the milestones to come on her journey,” says Ien.

Success is in the Bag was created to provide women in Canada with a network of support, professional attire and development tools to help them thrive in work and in life. “Interested participants can donate by contacting [email protected]. Dress for Success will arrange the pick up and appraisal of the handbag. An additional perk is that if the bag is appraised with a market value of at least $1,000, a charitable tax receipt will be issued for its full market value,” says Kathryn Babcock, Director National Partnerships.

Love that Bag – Canada’s foremost experts in designer handbag consignment will provide professional appraisal and include the handbag in a signature national online sale  (Spring 2017).

I am thrilled that my company can provide the platform to turn beautiful handbags into support for women’s futures.  As a company of women we are particularly grateful to be able to economically empower women,” says Alice Goldbloom, Founder of Love that Bag.

The mission of Dress for Success is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and life. Dress for Success operates in 12 cities across Canada (and 23 countries around the world)

Based in Montreal, Love that Bag carefully curates pre-owned designer bags that have been kept in excellent condition by fashion conscious women and offers them for resale.
